Shure is introducing a Special Edition Super 55 microphone ($354 MSRP/$299 retail) tailored for vocals and speech, and featuring a vintage design, high output (with a Neodymium magnet and output transformer for increased sensitivity) and rugged die-cast chrome casing, along with a new red-and-black color scheme. The Special Edition Super 55 incorporates modern technology while paying tribute to the original Shure Unidyne, the first single-element unidirectional microphone, which Shure introduced in 1939.
